Independent machinery sourcing · Integration

labeling machine

Labeling Machine Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner. Share container geometry, label stock, quantity and destination so factories can quote a labeling machine against a stated web speed and a stated container count, rather than a single nameplate figure taken in isolation.

Defined specification

If label length, gap, liner, adhesive, wrap or front-and-back layout, and whether you need an applicator head or a complete labeling machine with handling are already written, send that packet so bidders price the same rows. Mention bottle rotation for overlap on round containers and the physical datum used to judge placement.

Selection still open

If wrap versus front-and-back, print-and-apply versus pre-printed stock, or applicator-only versus complete cell is still undecided, review the sourcing steps first. Do not ask factories to invent a typical SKU; leave those rows as open questions so quotes stay comparable. See applicator versus complete machine.

Product changeover questions

A labeling machine RFQ is comparable only after each bidder uses the same SKU matrix. Changeover time is a quoted procedure plus format-part list, not a marketing interval. Container pitch, label length and winding direction belong next to the changeover table so reel changes are judged on the same samples.

What changes between products?

List each container diameter or panel, label length and height, gap, winding direction, liner and adhesive even when bottles look similar. A wrap labeling machine and a front and back labeling machine may share a family name and still need different heads, sensors and timing screws. Transparent or reflective containers should be flagged because detection must be demonstrated on those packs, not only on opaque samples.

What must be cleaned or replaced?

Ask which peel plates, drive rollers, wrap belts, bottle-turn fixtures and printer modules are SKU-specific, and whether washdown contacts the label path or only the conveyor. Spare parts kits should name wear items for the first label stock, not a generic consumable list.

How is the first good output verified?

Agree the first-good definition: position relative to a physical container datum after a stated delay, overlap quality on round bottles, and whether a rejected reel splice counts. Restart after changeover should repeat that set, not only a saved recipe name. Throughput on that restart is containers per hour after rejects, not peak conveyor speed.

Cost rows that change a labeling machine total

Machine

Base frame, first applicator or wrap station, first label-stock tooling, guarding and controls cabinet. Extra heads for front-and-back or top-and-bottom, printers and cameras sit on later rows unless the quote says they are included.

Delivery

Packing, inland freight, export crate, duties and Incoterms. A factory wholesale quote without destination still cannot be compared with a delivered cell. Connected load in kW and supply frequency in Hz belong with the packing list so electrical contractors are not guessing.

Site

Installation, compressed air drops, footprint in mm, encoder mounting, conveyor matching and commissioning travel. FAT and SAT attendance are separate lines. Training and spare parts are not assumed to travel with the machine price.

No numerical saving claim without comparable quotations.

Questions that change the quote

How is bottle rotation controlled for the label overlap?
Connections to confirm
Interface Buyer input
Electrical Voltage, phase and frequency for the labeling drive and controls; connected load in kW once the supplier sizes the motor and cabinet. Record whether the trial uses your three-phase supply or a lab transformer.
Utilities Compressed air demand if tamp, wipe-down or printer modules are pneumatic; cooling water only when a quoted print engine includes a heat exchanger. State pressure at the machine, not at the compressor room.
Controls PLC interface, label-request and fault signals, encoder source, and stop conditions from upstream filler discharge or downstream inspection. Ask who owns a bottle that arrives without a label present.

On round bottles, overlap quality depends on how the container is rotated against the peel plate or wrap belt, not only on the applicator’s published metres per minute. Ask the bidder to name the rotation method (wrap belt, roller, or turntable), the overlap target, and the sample used. Public applicator notes that quote web speed in m/min are useful as questions; they are not this site’s test certificate. Duty cycle, tooling for the first SKU, and footprint still sit on the same RFQ.

Which responsibilities remain with the equipment supplier and the buyer?

The supplier confirms machine feasibility, quoted tooling, and the trial method on samples the buyer ships. The buyer owns package artwork, liner and adhesive selection from the label converter, plant utilities, and the decision to accept or reject a quote. Labeling Machine Sourcing coordinates comparable replies; we do not sign FAT or SAT. Browse equipment inquiry options.
